About

Stories have to be told or they die, and when they die, we can't remember who we are or why we're here.― Sue Monk Kidd, The Secret Life of Bees: Gogorobí Foundation ensures the preservation, conservation and promotion of our storytelling tradition of Curacao and the Caribbean to the world.

What is your expertise?

Caribbean Oral stories, musical storytelling.

What kind of activities do you organise?

Since 2012 we have toured schools and institutions for the elderly with musical storytelling and have done several workshops for primary schools on Curacao, Bonaire and Surinam. We have also performed at Gimistroy Festival in the Cayman Islands and also we have performed in Washington in 2015. Our activities are mainly musical storytelling performances and workshops.

What is your motivation to join FEST?

We want to connect exchange with other countries and we also want to have easier acces to international storytelling festivals.  At the moment we are developing a program for youth to train them in the art of storytelling. We are really looking forward to meet organisations in Europe so we can have exchanges so we can give these new members more international experience.
